We seek to clarify dynamics at the nexus of political and cultural repression and resistance, between the vertical systems of political authoritarianism and misogyny.

Social Identity and System Justification on Vaccine Hesitancy

We aim to use social identity theory and system justification theory to understand the underlying mechanisms of national identity, political ideology, system justification, and trust in relation to vaccine hesitancy in the US, the Philippines, and China.

Social Media Use, Remote Acculturation, and Cultural Identity

We intend to examine how social media use impacts global and local cultural identities in the Philippines and Lebanon and how remote acculturation mediates this relationship.
